Christiania walking tour review
My verdict: the best-evidenced tour on this site. Two hours on foot from Strandgade 95, a group capped at ten, and 4.7 from 300 GetYourGuide reviews, which is the only rating here built on a sample large enough to trust. The catch is arithmetic: about thirty minutes of those two hours are spent inside Christiania.

What the tour is
It starts and finishes at Strandgade 95 in Christianshavn, which is a five-minute walk from the metro and about the most sensible place in the district to begin anything. The route runs to the Church of Our Saviour for fifteen minutes, into Freetown Christiania for thirty including free time, across to the Copenhagen Opera House for fifteen, then back to Strandgade. A local of the district guides it, in English, rain or shine.
So this is a Christianshavn tour with Christiania as its centrepiece, which is the honest way to describe it. You get the church, the Freetown and the Opera House in one loop, and you get a person who can tell you which of the paths between the houses is somebody’s drive. Who it suits
First visitors to Christianshavn who want the district explained and the Freetown handled properly. People travelling alone, because a group of ten is small enough to ask questions in. Anyone nervous about walking into Christiania without knowing the etiquette, which after April 2024 is a much smaller worry than most visitors expect and is set out on is it safe. It is listed as wheelchair accessible, which none of the cycling options can claim.
Who should skip it
If Christiania is the only thing you came for, thirty minutes will frustrate you. You are better off walking in alone with a list of what is inside and giving it two hours of your own. If you want the rest of Copenhagen in the same outing, a bike tour covers five times the ground. If you need a language other than English, this one cannot help you and the private walking tour can.
